Hello!  We are back in the land of connectivity in the Victoria Falls Hotel.  We had an absolutely phenomenal time on safari in 3 national parks in Zimbabwe and we still have almost another week of vacation left.  Our visit to Matobo Hills was a cultural experience where we viewed several cave paintings dated between 3000 and 9000 years ago.  In Hwange National Park we saw more wildlife than we could have imagined and got so much closer to the animals than we could have dreamed, all safely from a safari vehicle.  I can’t wait to share my photos.  In Mana Pools National Park, where we spent a full week, we were blown away by how much fun we had.  We had all kinds of close encounters with the animals, spent 3 days canoeing around hippos, and hiked nearly every day in addition to game drives.  Our guide fit so well with our personalities, that it was sad to leave.

All my notes are in a spiral and not even typed up yet, so you’ll have to wait until I get back to the States to hear all my stories.  I hope you all are staying cool in the USA summer.  Our African winter has been a mix of temperatures ranging from about 38 to 85.  Talk to you again soon.

=) Joanna
